Iva Novosel

Iva Novosel

Iva Novosel was born on the Moon island of Pag in Croatia, on the hottest day of the year 1980. Her genes are a heady mix from Lika and Dalmatia, brought to fruit on the rocky shores of Adriatic sea, spurred on by songs of seagulls and the sweet aroma of Mediterranean figs.
Her profession is journalism and her calling is to be creative.
As she floated away from her island, she found new home on the Croatian mainland where she, apart from casual travels, now happily resides. A creature of restless spirit and hungry eyes, and parent to three little deckhands. She loves sea wind and salt, lists, stories, poems, fairy tales, books and cooking recipes – in short, she is in love with words.
And reading and writing. She collects ideas and children's picture books. Sometimes she even makes some of her own.
Breathes, writes and works in Zagreb, Croatia.

Natalija Mitrić

Natalija Mitrić

She came into this world one summer night in 1974, in Gorski kotar, predestined to fall in love with stories. Ever since, they have been flying around her head, busy like bees…When they find their way out of her head or she catches them for heads or tails, they usually end on the paper.

Children’s magazines Smib, Radost and Zvrk have welcomed some of those fugitives while magazine Quorum published her poetry, also praised by the award Goran for young poets in 1998. Recently, she started writing prose and poetry for both children and adults, partly on one of the dialects from Gorski kotar.

She lives and works in Zagreb. Mother of one girl and two boys and guardian of a pygmy schnauzer Eli.

Nina Vađić

Nina Vađić

Nina Vađić was born in Zagreb in 1973, in the last days of August, just in time to say farewell to the hot summer. She spoke very early, walked with a little delay and kept that rhythm throughout her entire life. After her childhood, which flew by very quickly, she kept memories of the gumi-gumi play, dear friends and petite mischiefs. She also kept two diplomas – of regular and music school.

After her graduation at the Faculty of teacher education in Zagreb, Nina started giving musical lessons for children and youth and has been truly enjoying it for the past twenty years.

Since 2015 she writes for children and relishes every published picture book as if it was her first. Some of them received recognitions and awards, but Nina loves them all the same. Other than writing, she also enjoys creating animated movies and hopes she might dive a bit deeper in the world of cartoons.

In her free time, Nina likes to read, cook, and hang out with her children.
